Step 3: Prepare for Your Exam

NI recommends preparing for an exam through a combination of NI courses, review materials, and experience with the related NI product. However, you are not required to attend courses before taking certification exams.

Prepare for your certification exam by:

  1. Attending recommended NI training courses shown below:
Certification Recommended Training Course Materials
Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer LabVIEW Basics I and II
Certified LabVIEW Developer LabVIEW Intermediate I and II
CLD Exam Preparation Course (Online)
Certified LabVIEW Architect LabVIEW Advanced I: Architectures

Certified TestStand Developer TestStand Basics I and II
  1. Reviewing the exam preparation materials.
  2. Reviewing the exam topics for your specific exam.
  3. Reviewing the sample tests for your certification exams.

Step 4: Take the Exam

Take your exam at the scheduled time and location. We recommend you arrive at your location 15 minutes before your scheduled time to avoid missing your scheduled exam.

For the CLAD exams at Pearson VUE test centers, you receive your results immediately after you complete the exam. Verify the personal information on the screen and obtain a printed copy for your records. National Instruments then sends you the official results and certificate within four weeks.

For all other certifications, NI sends you the official results and certificates within six weeks of your exam date.
